Cottons Notting Hill Gate has just been awarded the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS award for the bar with the most varieties of rum in the world – an official total of 372 different types of rum on offer.
In celebration, Cottons has launched a special rum menu (on offer daily in the restaurant until 16th December) along with a rum-based cocktail titled Record Breaker.
They have also launched a Cocktail Training School with a chance for people to receive a week live training at one of the Cottons rhum shacks.
COTTONS GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS TITLE AND LAUNCH OF COCKTAIL TRAINING SCHOOL
Cottons Caribbean Restaurant and Salon de Rhum in Notting Hill Gate was awarded the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for the bar with the most varieties of rum commercially available, last night, 27th October.
The challenge was conducted and an official certificate was presented to manager Samantha Edwards at the flagship Notting Hill restaurant, which opened in April this year.
Cottons Salon de Rhum at Notting Hill Gate has an official total of 372 different rums stocked, way exceeding any other bar.
The 1960s British Navy Rum Flagon is the most expensive rum stocked, priced at £255 a shot and £6,250 per bottle, while the Nepalese Khukri rum is one of the most rare, priced at £12.50 per shot and £350 per bottle.
Edwards said; “Our varied collection of rums has been meticulously sourced from around the world, including everything from well known brands to small batch rums. It’s fantastic that GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS has been able to make it official that we serve more rums than anyone else.”
COTTONS COCKTAIL TRAINING SCHOOL & RUM MENU
To coincide with the win, Cottons has launched a Cocktail Training School*. Budding bar hopefuls, keen to cut their teeth in the industry can enrol monthly in the sessions which include an introduction to cocktail making together with a week’s live training at one of the Cottons rhum shacks.
Those after a more light-hearted introduction to cocktail making can book the 2-hour introductory course, which includes a rhum tasting, history of drinks and a chance to make classic cocktails.
A limited-edition rum menu has also been created and will be on offer daily until Sunday 16th December at Cottons Notting Hill Gate alongside a rum-based Record Breaker cocktail, available at all three Cottons rhum shacks.
