COMIDA FEST: eat your way to Latin America without leaving London

Join London’s most unique fiesta on 12th & 13th August in Potter Fields Park – Tower Bridge

After a smashing debut in Cutty Sark Gardens, with nearly 20.000 people joining London’s most unique Latin American Fiesta, Comida Fest proudly announces its second event of the summer season. On 12th and 13th August, Tower Bridge’s Potter Fields Park will host its biggest festival this season, showcasing over 30 food and drink traders plus a vibrant and full cultural programme with music and fun activities for adults and children.

Foodies should be prepared to try an array of innovative street food inspired by Latin America. Adding to the diversity of the festival, Comida Fest Tower Bridge edition will introduce a new team of food traders. Amongst them, Brazil’s favourite street food, the gooey cheese bread or pão de queijo will be available through Dona Rita. Comida Fest also presents its first French speaking trader, Caribbab bringing creole food inspired by the French Caribbean islands. Another newbie, Quinoa Food introduces a gluten free menu celebrating the Andean region. In the cocktail front, Behind this Wall, a cocktail bar from Hackney will serve Latin America’s party crowd pleasers: pisco sour and caipirinhas. See a full list of food and drink traders below.

#travel: Inspired by last year’s successful travel competition to Rio de Janeiro, this year Comida Fest teamed up with Avianca and Chimu Adventures to offer a lucky winner and a guest one trip to Colombia, including hotels in Bogota and the sea side town of Cartagena. Find out more about our travel competition on www.comidafest.com/competition.

Comida Fest is a food festival showcasing the best of Latin American cuisine and culture. It was founded in 2016 by three Brazilian women – Simone Ruotolo, Alicia Bastos and Gizane Campos. Now in its second year of activities, the festival founders are crowdfunding to set up a temporary home in London. “Our winter pop up concept fits really well in London because it is such a multicultural city that embraces food from all over the world, with people open to new experiences. It also has a big Latin American community.” Explains Alicia Bastos, Comida Fest director. The crowdfunding campaign is on until 24th September 2017. https://www.spacehive.com/comida-fest-winter FOR FULL EVENTS AND TIMETABLE, GO TO comidafest.com/events.
